Basketball Recap: Eastern Hancock Royals vs. Wapahani Raiders
Eastern Hancock had won eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they bumped up to 6-1 to make it nine. They claimed a resounding 59-16 victory over the Wapahani Raiders. With the Royals ahead 29-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.

McKenzie Koch was her usual excellent self, shooting 46% from the field on her way to 25 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The matchup was her 32nd in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Sotelo, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points and four steals.
Eastern Hancock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wapahani only pulled down nine.
As for Wapahani, they now have a losing record of 2-3. They have struggled against Eastern Hancock recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Wapahani saw an underclassman step up: freshman Nola Baker posted seven points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for Baker.
Coming up, Eastern Hancock will face off against Greensburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wapahani, they will take on Blue River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
