Football Game Preview: Riverside Warriors vs. Capital Cougars + Official Tickets

Riverside is 0-10 against Capital since August of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Warriors will host the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Riverside has given up an average of 30.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Riverside lost to Winfield at home by a 42-28 margin.

Despite the loss, Riverside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Malakhi Hope rushed for 143 yards and two TDs on only eight carries. Those 143 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Hope.

Riverside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaion Tucker and Logan Tudor.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 20-20 at halftime, Capital was not quite Nitro's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 22-20.

Capital now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
