Recap: Austin-East Roadrunners vs. Alcoa Tornadoes
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Austin-East Roadrunners, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Alcoa on the road and fell 47-6. The low total for Austin-East limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.
Tyler Scott threw for 77 yards and a touchdown on only six passes. Marco Allen was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Dimere Ligon rushed for 86 yards on only 12 carries.
Austin-East's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Alcoa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Austin-East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Alcoa will head out on the road to face off against Gatlinburg-Pittman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gatlinburg-Pittman is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
