Softball Game Preview: Fallbrook Warriors vs. Westview Wolverines

Fallbrook is 1-9 against Westview since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. Neither Fallbrook nor Westview posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Fallbrook came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Escondido by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since March 20th.

Meanwhile, Westview's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They skirted past San Pasqual 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Sierra Wallace was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Westview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in ten consecutive games.

Westview's record now sits at 16-4-2. As for Fallbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Fallbrook suffered a grim 31-3 defeat to Westview when the teams last played back in April. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
