Basketball Game Preview: Union Knights/Damsels vs. Cranberry Area Berries

Union and Cranberry Area are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Union Knights/Damsels will head out on the road to face off against the Cranberry Area Berries at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Union was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to North Clarion.

Despite their loss, Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Trent Fleming, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 20 points gave Fleming a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Jordan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cranberry Area came up short against Redbank Valley on Thursday and fell 66-58. The Berries have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cranberry Area now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Union didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Cranberry Area in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 72-66 win. Will Union repeat their success, or does Cranberry Area have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
