Volleyball Recap: Bethany Christian Comes Up Short

Bethany Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the LaVille Lancers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bethany Christian wouldn't go down easily and took LaVille into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-23, 25-15, 21-25, 15-11.

Bethany Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for LaVille, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethany Christian will head out to challenge South Bend Career Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for LaVille, they will venture away from home to face off against Lakeland Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
