Softball Recap: Central Magnet Comes Up Short

Central Magnet's last matchup with Macon County could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. Central Magnet lost 10-3 to Macon County.

Sophia Croasdaile was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Alyssa Lanier also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Central Magnet has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Macon County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Central Magnet will square off against LaVergne at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.2 runs per game on average), something Central Magnet will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Macon County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Livingston Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
