Baseball Recap: False River Comes Up Short

False River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Joseph's - Plaucheville Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 12-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

False River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benson Jewell, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Wyatt Orilion also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

False River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for St. Joseph's - Plaucheville, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Coming up, False River will face off against Tara at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Joseph's - Plaucheville, they will take on Monterey at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
