Football Game Preview: North Rock Creek Cougars vs. Purcell Dragons + How To Watch

The North Rock Creek Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Purcell Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

North Rock Creek easily dispatched Star-Spencer last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Cougars fell just short of Pauls Valley by a score of 23-21 on Friday.

Despite the defeat, North Rock Creek got top-tier performance from Memphis Burdine, who picked up 79 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Purcell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 63-14 loss at the hands of Anadarko. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Purcell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for North Rock Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went North Rock Creek's way against Purcell when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as North Rock Creek made off with a 42-21 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Dragons' Boston Knowles, who rushed for 172 yards and a pair of TDs.
