Basketball Recap: Veritas Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Veritas Christian Academy managed to slip by Atlantic Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 76-48. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aiden Bennett, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Marine, who posted 11 points.

Caden Kim was a one-man wrecking crew For Atlantic Christian. as he shot 48% from the field en route to 33 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Kim a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Costello, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine assists.

Veritas Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Atlantic Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Veritas Christian Academy and Atlantic Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Lions see the court they'll take on The Pilgrim Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 5. As for Atlantic Christian, their break will end when they face Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on December 8.
