Basketball Recap: Southeast Career Tech Comes Up Short

Southeast Career Tech lost against Canyon Springs back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canyon Springs Pioneers. The Roadrunners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Southeast Career Tech lost, don't look at Ricardo Rodriguez. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. The dominant performance gave Rodriguez a new career-high in points.

Canyon Springs was led to victory by Xavier Tillman and Carlos Ferguson. Tillman dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards, while Ferguson earned eight points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Carter, who put up eight points.

Southeast Career Tech's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Canyon Springs, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Career Tech will venture away from home to square off against Rancho at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canyon Springs, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Silverado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon Springs is facing Silverado at the right time seeing as Silverado is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
