Soccer Recap: Manteo's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Holmes last Monday, Manteo came back down to earth. The Redskins fell 2-0 to the First Flight Nighthawks on Wednesday. Manteo were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than four goals in the three games prior), but First Flight's defense proved too tough.

Manteo moved to 9-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for First Flight, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manteo will welcome Currituck County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for First Flight, they will face off against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
