Softball Recap: Carmel Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Carmel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the King City Mustangs, sneaking past 4-3. The Padres haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Olivia Tringali spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Annabella Schroeder, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Stella Becker was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Carmel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King City only managed six.

Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for King City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Carmel has already played their next matchup, a 10-4 win against Everett Alvarez on the 3rd. As for King City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-7 victory against Rancho San Juan on the 3rd.
