Football Recap: Crestwood Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Crestwood and Hartsville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Crestwood had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Red Foxes and fell 45-8. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Marek Yates threw for 79 yards and one touchdown. Jayden Martin was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Brayden Boults rushed for 77 yards.

Hartsville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ford Wallace, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 145 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes. Another back making a difference was Trace Hillian, who rushed for 112 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Crestwood's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hartsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Crestwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hartsville, they will venture away from home to square off against Gray Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The War Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
