Basketball Recap: Southwest Dekalb Starts off Right with Win over Union Grove

Southwest DeKalb gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Union Grove Wolverines as they made off with a 77-55 victory.

Jackson Ushery was nothing short of spectacular: he went 9-for-14 en route to 23 points and three steals. What's more, he posted four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Thomas Glanton, III was another key player, shooting 63% from the field to rack up 16 points and seven assists.

Looking ahead, Southwest DeKalb will host Arabia Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union Grove, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Oconee at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
