Soccer Recap: Mathews Takes a Loss

After flying high against Nandua last Wednesday, Mathews came back down to earth. The Blue Devils lost 6-2 to the Middlesex Chargers on Monday. If Mathews were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to Middlesex when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ellie Congrove and Leah Hyde scored both of Mathews' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Mathews' loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Middlesex, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mathews will face off against West Point at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Middlesex, they will square off against Windsor at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
