Football Game Preview: Northeast Raiders vs. Fannin County Rebels + Official Tickets

After each having a week off, the Northeast Raiders and the Fannin County Rebels will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northeast is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Last Friday, Northeast made easy work of East Laurens and carried off a 29-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Northeast found their leader in sophomore Tayvon Shivers, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

One reason for the win was Northeast's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Leading the way was Isaiah Stubbs with two. Maurice Wilson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Fannin County suffered their biggest defeat since August 22nd two weeks ago. They were outmatched by Gordon Lee and fell 45-7. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Trojans are ranked 144th).

Northeast will have to keep a close watch on Bryson Cole and Nate Oneal, a pair of players who had a big impact on Fannin County's prior game. Cole rushed for 158 yards and one TD, while Oneal rushed for 91 yards on only 11 carries. Cole has become a key player for Fannin County: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Northeast's record is now 8-2. As for Fannin County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Northeast beat Fannin County 48-39 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Rebels' Lawson Sullivan, who rushed for 229 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 214 yards and a pair of TDs.
