On Friday, Live Oak faced Walker in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Live Oak Eagles came out on top against the Walker Wildcats by a score of 7-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Trevor Hodges tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mac Beadle was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Dekohta Jones, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Live Oak hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive matches.

Live Oak's record is now 15-4. As for Walker, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-5.

Coming up, Live Oak will look to defend their home field on Monday against St. Charles Catholic at 6:00 p.m. As for Walker, they will venture away from home to face off against St. Amant at 1:00 p.m. on March 22nd.
