Basketball Recap: Lotus School for Excellence Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Lotus School For Excellence extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Surafel Lemma. The Lotus School For Excellence Meteors put the hurt on the Caprock Academy Eagles with a sharp 57-36 win on Friday thanks in part to Lemma, who went 6 for 12 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Miki Regassa, who posted ten points and five boards. Those five rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Caprock Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tristin Bird, who had seven points along with seven boards and five assists. Zach Jordan was another key player, putting up eight points.

Lotus School For Excellence is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.4 points. As for Caprock Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Lotus School For Excellence will challenge Aurora West College Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Caprock Academy has already played their next game, a 61-52 defeat against De Beque on the 29th.
