Softball Recap: Waynesburg Central Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Waynesburg Central kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Belle Vernon Leopards by a score of 13-12. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Avery Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-6. The team also got some help courtesy of Bre Kerr, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesburg Central will face off against Bethlehem Center at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belle Vernon, they will welcome Derry at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
