Soccer Recap: Innovation Comes Up Short

Innovation and Auburndale squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Innovation had to settle for second. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bloodhounds who were credited with the victory. The Auburndale Bloodhounds got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to the Innovation Bulls' six. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Innovation's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

The loss snapped Innovation's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 8-7 record. As for Auburndale, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season.

Innovation and Auburndale will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Bulls see the pitch they'll take on Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on February 5. As for Auburndale, their break will end when they face Springstead at 7:00 p.m. on February 5.
