Volleyball Recap: Purdue Poly Englewood vs. Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils

Purdue Poly Englewood kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils by a score of 3-2.

Purdue Poly Englewood actually scored more points across those five sets (103-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-16, 12-25, 24-26, 15-12.

Indianapolis Shortridge found their leader in freshman Nayli Suarez, who had 22 digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Suarez. Mykiah Malone also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Indianapolis Shortridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Purdue Poly Englewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they will face off against Decatur Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
