Recap: Broughton Capitals vs. Sanderson Spartans

There's no place like home for the Broughton Capitals, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Sanderson with a sharp 55-30 victory on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Broughton has posted since December 4, 2023.

Kalajah Wright was her usual excellent self, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Gustus, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

Broughton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Sanderson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Broughton will head out on the road to take on Cardinal Gibbons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cardinal Gibbons focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Sanderson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Enloe at 6:30 p.m. Enloe comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
