Baseball Recap: Young Americans Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Young Americans Christian had to endure a 23-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS 10-9 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Kenneth Haynes made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Haynes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jayden Sigur was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those RBI were his first of the season. Ben Allen was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Young Americans Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Young Americans Christian and Trinity Christian School of Griffin will both be playing New Creation Christian Academy the next time they take the field. Trinity Christian School of Griffin will head out to face New Creation Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Young Americans Christian will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
