Football Game Preview: Westover Wolverines vs. Lee County Yellow Jackets

The Westover Wolverines will head out to face off against the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Westover's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-0 win over E.E. Smith. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their 13-point performance the game before.

Latrell Allen was his usual excellent self, rushing for 107 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jamarcus Glenn was another major influence, as he rushed for 46 yards and ran in a TD.

Meanwhile, Lee County beat Southern Lee 27-18 on Friday.

Westover better keep an eye on Brandon Baldwin. He was instrumental in Lee County's win, rushing for 147 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Lee County's defense made their presence known, laying out Ben Harrington four times. Daniel Prince refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Lee County got some further help from Prince: he picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Westover's record is now 3-7. As for Lee County, their record now sits at 6-4.

Westover might still be hurting after the 34-12 defeat they got from Lee County in their previous matchup back in October of 2016. Thankfully for the Wolverines, Jahmir Smith (who rushed for 205 yards and four scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
