Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Karlin Burton and Nila Netter Lead Franklin Community to Victory

Franklin Community won the last time they faced Bloomington South and things went their way on Thursday too. The Grizzly Cubs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzly Cubs.

One reason for the win was Franklin Community's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-23, 25-17.

Leading Franklin Community to victory were Nila Netter and Karlin Burton. Netter had eight digs and four aces, while Burton hit 71.4% for five kills and nine digs and two blocks. Burton has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 19 times she's played. Madi Chase also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Franklin Community's record now sits at 11-2. As for Bloomington South, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-3.

Franklin Community and Bloomington South should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Grizzly Cubs will square off against Martinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (23 vs. 209). Meanwhile, Bloomington South (ranked 27th) will meet Bloomington North (ranked 228th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
