Basketball Game Preview: Scott Beavers vs. Holcomb Longhorns

Scott hasn't had much luck against Holcomb recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. Scott is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.

Scott will head into Tuesday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They lost 64-43 to Goodland. The contest marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The losing side was boosted by Jackson Rumford, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Rumford is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Junior Meza, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Holcomb put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Colby with points to spare, taking the game 74-59. The Longhorns' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Scott fell to 4-1. As for Holcomb, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Scott couldn't quite finish off Holcomb in their previous meeting back in February and fell 47-44. Can Scott avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
