Baseball Recap: Fairfield Central Takes a Loss

Fairfield Central fell victim to Richard Winn Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Griffins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Landon Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 11 Ks.

Fairfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Richard Winn Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

While Fairfield Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
