The home team had come away the winner the last five times Ezekiel Academy and Abbeville Christian Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Knights blew past the Generals 48-23 on Thursday. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Ezekiel Academy to victory were Gianna Johnson and Addi Newell. Johnson went 5-for-11 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds, while Newell posted eight points and five steals. Newell has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Sirmon, who scored four points and nine boards.

Ezekiel Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Ezekiel Academy pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Coming up, Ezekiel Academy will challenge Chilton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bessemer Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
