Softball Recap: Quincy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Quincy was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They came up short against the Kiona-Benton Bears, falling 17-1. The Jackrabbits' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row dating back to last season.

Quincy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juliza Herrera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Herrera is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Even though they lost, Quincy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Quincy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Kiona-Benton, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-3-1.

While Quincy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
