Baseball Game Preview: Forbes Road vs. Everett Warriors

Forbes Road is 2-8 against Everett since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Forbes Road will head out to take on Everett at 4:30 p.m.

Tussey Mountain hit Forbes Road with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Forbes Road fell 8-4 to Tussey Mountain.

Meanwhile, Everett had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Mountaineers 11-2. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Chase Sherwood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Sherwood was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Levi Cornell was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Lane Whitfield also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Everett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Everett's record now sits at 11-2. As for Forbes Road, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Forbes Road might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Everett in their previous matchup back in April. Can Forbes Road avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
