Baseball Recap: Douglass Comes Up Short

Douglass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 14-2 to the Cheney Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-2 defeat on Thursday.

Douglass' loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Cheney, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Douglass will face off against Belle Plaine on Monday. As for Cheney, they will head out to face off against Goddard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
