Football Recap: Simsbury Comes Up Short

Simsbury extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They took a 30-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bristol Central Rams. While the Trojans had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Rams 6-0.

As for Bristol Central, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. That 12 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Gabriel Ouellette continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 166 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 71 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards.

Looking ahead, Simsbury will square off against Glastonbury at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Guardians will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Bristol Central, after both having extra time off, they and Bristol Eastern will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:30 a.m. on the 27th.
