Softball Recap: Waunakee Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sun Prairie East, Waunakee was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Golden Beavers on their field since May 14, 2019.

Waunakee secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Audra Ubersox, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Waunakee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Beaver Dam, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5.

Coming up, Waunakee will host Monona Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Silver Eagles at the right time seeing as the Silver Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Beaver Dam, they will take on DeForest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
