Pioneer came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 40-32 win over the Caston Comets. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Panthers were down 24-9 in the second quarter.

Despite the loss, Caston had strong showings from Madisyn Douglass, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Grace Colvin, who posted ten points. Douglass has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Pioneer's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Caston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Pioneer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-38 victory against Triton on the 21st. Caston has also already played their next match, a 38-29 win against Frontier on the 19th.
