Basketball Recap: Gila Ridge Gets the Win

Gila Ridge's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 win over the Red Mesa Redskins.

When it comes to explaining why Red Mesa lost, don't look at Shyla Pipkin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Pipkin is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Gila Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Red Mesa, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Gila Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-32 defeat against Pine Hill on the 19th. As for Red Mesa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-18 win against Rough Rock on the 20th.
