Volleyball Recap: Village Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Village couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Resurrection Christian Cougars on Saturday. The Mountaineers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Village lost, don't look at Dylan Teague. Despite the final result, she had 23 digs and one assist. Teague has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Resurrection Christian had a senior duo take command as Blake Coors had 18 digs and three assists and Amanda Pardue had seven digs and four aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Village and nudges their season record down to 20-9. As for Resurrection Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 26-3.

Village does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Resurrection Christian, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Eaton on the 15th.
