Basketball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

Riverview played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the St. Joseph Spartans, falling 82-36. The Raiders were down 58-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Riverview's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabel Chaparro, who posted 16 points, and Mia Murphy, who went 7-for-13 en route to 15 points and six steals. That was a full 44.4% of the Raiders' points, marking the 13th time in a row Chaparro has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Riverview dropped their record down to 7-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Joseph, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Riverview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-50 win against Jeannette on the 22nd. As for St. Joseph, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-24 victory against Eden Christian Academy on the 22nd.
