Basketball Recap: Freeman Piles Up the Points Against Thomas Jefferson

There's no place like home for Freeman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 59-18 win over the Thomas Jefferson Vikings. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Vikings are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Freeman to victory were Addie Morton and Jane Miller. Morton posted 29 points, while Miller earned 22 points. Morton's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Freeman has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Thomas Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Freeman has already played their next contest (against J.R. Tucker), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Thomas Jefferson will take on Petersburg at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
