Volleyball Recap: Soquel Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Soquel waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mt. Madonna Hawks. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Soquel was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-8, 25-12.

Victoria Breshear paced Soquel's offense, picking up nine kills. Breshear got some help from Ashby Weeks and her 29 assists. Weeks also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alexis Monahan, racking up two apiece.

Soquel now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Mt. Madonna, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Soquel is set to square off against their familiar foe Santa Cruz at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Madonna will face off against rival Scotts Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
