Basketball Preview: Northern Valley Huskies vs. Stockton Tigers
Northern Valley hasn't had much luck against Stockton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Northern Valley Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stockton Tigers at 6:00 p.m.
Northern Valley is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-37 heartbreaker at the hands of Logan/Palco. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Huskies have suffered since February 3, 2024.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Haedyn Cox, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Jordyn Cox was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 19 rebounds and nine steals.
Even though they lost, Northern Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan/Palco only pulled down eight offensive boards.
Meanwhile, Stockton made easy work of Natoma on Monday and carried off a 46-20 victory. Stockton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 26 points or more this season.
Northern Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Stockton, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-2.
