Basketball Game Preview: Kings Mountain Mountaineers vs. Ardrey Kell Knights + How To Watch

The Kings Mountain Mountaineers will head out to face off against the Ardrey Kell Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Mountaineers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They walked away with a 78-69 victory over Burns on Tuesday. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kings Mountain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Nixon out in front who shot 42% from the field on his way to 30 points along with six boards and four steals. Ethan Daniel was another key player, going 8-for-12 en route to 27 points.

Kings Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Ardrey Kell posted their closest win since February 11th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Asheville Christian Academy 53-51. Those 53 points were actually the fewest the Knights have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Kings Mountain better keep an eye on Braden Suggs. He was instrumental in Ardrey Kell's win, shooting 60% from the field to rack up 21 points. Those 21 points gave Suggs a new career-high. Shyam Jobanputra also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.
