Chapin kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Franklin Cougars 56-14. The Huskies have struggled against the Cougars recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Chapin still got an impressive performance from Daveon Singleton, who picked up 27 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Carey Wade also played a phenomenal game despite the final result: he picked up 82 receiving yards.
Ernie Powers had a dynamite game for Franklin, rushing for 136 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries.
