Torrance scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Mira Costa Mustangs by a score of 15-14. The loss continues a trend for the Tartars in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Torrance got a good showing from River Martinez, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Mateo Rickman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Chavez, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Torrance's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Mira Costa, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Torrance will face off against El Segundo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Tartars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mira Costa, they will square off against Loyola at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
