Basketball Recap: New Madrid County Central Comes Up Short

New Madrid County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Portageville Bulldogs and fell 66-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 66th).

New Madrid County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Portageville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

New Madrid County Central will head out on the road to take on Twin Rivers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portageville, they will welcome South Pemiscot at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
