Baseball Recap: Omaha Central Find Success

Omaha Central won the last time they faced Omaha South and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles never let the Packers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Grant Hamill's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Joe Dougherty was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Ferguson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Omaha Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win got Omaha Central back to even at 4-4. As for Omaha South, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coincidentally, Omaha Central and Omaha South will both be playing Benson the next time they take the field. The Packers will host the Bunnies at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
