Basketball Game Preview: Covington Academy Bulldogs vs. Providence Classical Christian Warriors

The Covington Academy Bulldogs will take on the Providence Classical Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Covington Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Covington Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Holy Ground Baptist Academy 55-25. The Bulldogs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since December 12, 2024 (when they won 68-36).

Cayden Williams was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Hardy, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Providence Classical Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 39-38 W against the Angels. Those 39 points were actually the fewest the Warriors have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Covington Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Providence Classical Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Covington Academy couldn't quite get it done against Providence Classical Christian when the teams last played back in January as they fell 57-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Warriors' Fabian Priestley, who posted 23 points.
