Basketball Recap: Waynflete Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Waynflete unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a blow against the Winthrop Ramblers, falling 59-27. The Flyers lost against the Ramblers in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-35 score last time.

Waynflete's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Winthrop, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Waynflete will venture away from home to square off against Traip at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winthrop, they will host Lisbon at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Winthrop has six straight victories, Lisbon has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
