Baseball Recap: Deer Lakes Takes a Loss

Deer Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeport Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 on Monday.

Deer Lakes saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Plummer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Deer Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Freeport, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0.

While Deer Lakes had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
