Volleyball Recap: Sandia's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Manzano came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Sandia, but Payton Ostrander wouldn't allow it. The Matadors put the hurt on the Monarchs with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday thanks in part to Ostrander, who had eight digs and four aces. She has been hot recently, having also posted 12 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Sandia took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-9.

With the victory, Sandia broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 6-15. As for Manzano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Sandia will welcome Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manzano, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Capital on the 4th.
